snow bear

In Blake's short little life he has seen 2 significant snowfalls.  About 4 inches on Christmas day and then the other week we got about 7-8 inches {that lasted pretty much all week long}.  We took Blake out for a few minutes to meet the neighbors who were all sledding down the big hills in our neighborhood.

look at those cheeks!

Sugar loved playing in the snow.  Can't wait till Blake is old enough to join her

1 month old

I can't believe how quickly the past month has gone by.  On December 30 Blake celebrated his 1 month birthday.  Here are a few things you are doing
  • at about 5 weeks you went 9 1/2 hrs between feedings at night.  You generally average from 8-9 hrs between feedings at night and you are sleeping in your crib.  Mommy LOVES this!
  • you are a growing boy!  weight on January 2 ~ 10lbs 5oz, weight on January 12 ~ 11lbs 6.5oz {6 weeks}                               both weights taken @ home
  • you love looking at ceiling fans ~ good thing we have fans in pretty much every room in the house
Here are a few pictures from Blake's 1 month photo shoot

road trip

The week between Christmas and New Years we went on Blake's first trip to visit his Grandpa & Gram in Bluffton, SC.  So far Blake has been a great car rider.  The trip down took a little longer than expected with a little traffic and stopping for two feedings, but on the way home Blake was a champ ~ stopping only once to feed and he slept pretty much the entire time.  Oh yeah...and Sugar came along too :)

Once we arrived Blake got to meet his Great Grandpa & Grandma Herring.

I love this picture.  Blake is really checking out Grandpa Gray

The first night we had Sugar's dog bed in the room with us.  Instead of sleeping on her bed she made her way into the closet and slept on whatever was already on the floor {dirty clothes, shoes, bags}.  The second night we moved her dog bed into the closet where she slept the entire week.

On Tuesday my parents, Blake, & I made a trip to Vidalia to visit my friend & college roommate, Anna and meet her baby boy, Alec.  Blake & Alec are 15 days apart and I just know these two will be good friends through the years.

and just because he is so cute...bath time photos

a little quality time with Gram & Grandpa

On Thursday Uncle Chad, Aunt Rachel, & Griffin arrived.
These two are going to be best buds

on Friday Blake got to watch his first Georgia football game.  He slept the entire game {did not miss much}, but still looked adorable in his UGA outfit.

Blake's 1st Christmas

We had a wonderful 1st Christmas together as a family of 3.  I could not have asked for a better day and we received our best present ever this Christmas.

Christmas Eve we celebrated with Jake's family at Mrs. Boring's house.  We had a wonderful Christmas meal and it was so much fun to see Brady and Claire open their gifts.  Blake slept thought most of the activities, but a sleeping baby is much better than a fussy baby :)  Next year I know Blake will be right there with his cousins ripping open presents, so excited to see what what they got.

Christmas morning we woke up to a white Christmas and throughout the day received about 4" of snow.

we had a very relaxing Christmas day with just the 3 of us at home...nowhere we had to be, enjoying our time with Blake.

first bath

So I am a bit behind on posting to the blog.  So much to do, so little time.

Bath time keeps getting better and better each time and now that everything is all healed we are enjoying bath time in the water.  The first {sponge} bath did not go over too well, but had to be documented none the less.  We were so glad Gram & Grandpa were here to help with the bath and take all of the pictures too :)
