Roly Poly

I can now say my child is rolling over {tummy to back}!  Every time Blake is on his tummy he rolls over to his back.  The first time he rolled over was February 25th, but it was only once and has not showed much interest since then up until about a week or so ago.  Here are a few videos of him in action {sorry they are so dark...I did not realize how dark the videos were until I watched them back}

where did our baby boy go?

Last week was a big week for Blake ~ 16 weeks old and so many first happened.  Our little baby seems like a BIG boy now.  How has this all happened so fast?

found your feet

started sucking your thumb

tried rice cereal {so far I think you like it}

started playing in the exersaucer
{and mastered it in 1 day ~ you can turn yourself all the way around and push the buttons to make the music play}

You have also rolled over a few more times, but it is not a regular occurrence.  We are so proud of you and all of your "first" and we are looking forward to many more.

3 months old

Blake ~ you are almost 4 months old and I am just getting around to doing your 3 month post.  I have a feeling as you get older and more active it will be harder to keep up with blogging, but I will TRY my best.  Here is what you have been up to...
  • You have starting taking longer naps!  You have gone from 30 minute naps {where you would wake up screaming} to 2+ hr naps in the morning and 1-2 hr naps in the afternoon.  You are still a WONDERFUL night sleeper.  We just stopped swaddling you at about 15 weeks old and so far you are doing pretty good.
  • You're momma's little chunky monkey!  Weight at 3 months ~ 14lbs 12oz & weight at 14 weeks ~ 15lbs!
  • You have rolled over once {Feb 25}. Ever since we have started putting you on your tummy for nap time, when we have tummy time and try and get you to roll over you just lay your head down.  We may have taken one step backwards with the rolling over process, but you are taking good naps and I think that is more important at this point :)
  • You are using your stomach muscles to try and pull yourself from a reclined position to a sitting position.  You can sit pretty well in your bumbo seat {we hope you don't outgrow the bumbo with your chubby little legs}
  • You are a popular little boy!  So far you have been to 2 1st birthday parties and 1 baby shower.

we have a talker on our hands

Lately Blake has been "talking" and cooing a lot.  It seems like every time I try and catch him on a video he stops.  The other day he was in his swing just talking away and I was able to capture some of it on video :)  I love it when he finally looks over and realizes that I am recording him.

splish splash I was taking a bath

Blake LOVES his baths (getting out of the tub is a different story).  We have been bathing him in his little bathtub on the bathroom counter and he will just look at himself in the mirror and smile.  Lately he has really started splashing in the water, so much so that I think we are going to have to move him to the tub to bathe him.

Here is the little cutie in action

new shades

Since the weather has been so nice out lately I had to go buy Blake some sunglasses and a hat so we can spend some time outside.  Mostly we just sit on the back porch or take a walk in the stroller around the neighborhood, but I think Blake really does enjoy being outside.  Here are a few picture of Blake's new shades (camo of course) and a little video too.

cousin time

So I realized I have not shared many videos on the blog.  Here is a cute one of Brady & Blake (and Granny too) when Blake was about 2 months old.  Brady is so sweet with his little cousin and I think Blake really likes Brady too.  These two are going to be best buds growing up.
