8 months old

Blake, this is all happening way to fast.  This month was huge...you are mobile now and are a very curious little boy.  Here is what you have been up to this month

• weight at 8 months ~ 18lbs 13oz, weight at 8 1/2 months ~ 19lbs 4.5oz
• you are saying "mama" ~ when I pick you up from daycare Mrs. Judy says you say "mama" and "dada" all day.  
• you are crawling and you are fast! you keep bruising your poor little forehead because you like to crawl on the tile at school and the hardwood at home.   
• you have 8 teeth...well you are cutting teeth 7 & 8 {4 on top, 4 on the bottom}.  
• started eating finger foods.  I figured with all of those chompers you should have no problem with table food.  
• you are pulling up    
• got your 1st ear infection {in both ears}
• mommy left you overnight for the first time :(  daddy took good care of you and I don't even think you knew mommy was gone.

We got a good deal on a family membership to the Chattanooga Zoo and made our first visit last weekend.  I think Blake will enjoy it more as he gets older. Here are a few pictures from Blake's first trip to the Zoo.

Haley's Wedding Weekend

We have had a busy July...first our beach vacation in Jupiter and then a trip to Mobile for my cousin Haley's wedding.  Blake did great on both trips. I am so glad that the Purvis side of the family was finally able to meet Blake!  I had a busy weekend with a wedding shower, bridesmaid luncheon, rehearsal dinner and then the wedding while Jake & Blake got to spend some quality time together.  Here are a few pictures from our non-stop weekend.

7 months old

Goodness...mommy is running behind.  Blake, you will be 8 months old tomorrow so I need to get caught up with what all you have been doing at 7 months old.  You are SO much fun and generally a happy baby.  This is what you have been up to...

• weight at 7 months ~ 18lbs, weight at 7 1/2 months ~ 18 lbs...holding steady
• you are starting to talk ~ first word was "dada" the day before Father's Day {this was at 6 1/2 months but was after the 6 month blog post and I think it need to be included in your accomplishments!}  you are also saying your B's "ba ba ba".  we are still working on "mama" :)
• you got your top two front teeth {July 6 & July 21}
• you can sit up by yourself if you are laying down.  it is the cutest thing when I go to get you in the mornings and you are sitting in your crib talking to yourself.
• you are SO close to crawling.  you get up on your hands & knees and rock back and forth.
• went on two trips this month ~ Jupiter, FL with mommy & daddy, Granny & Marcus, uncle Tyler, aunt Jenny, Brady & Claire and to Mobile, AL for cousin Haley's wedding.  you are a good car rider and the portable DVD player was a great purchase!
• you love the pool and your little pool float.  splashing in the water is so much fun!
• you are taking Prevacid & Zantac for your reflux

Jupiter ~ Happy 4th!

We spent the week of the 4th of July with Jake's family in Jupiter, FL.  We had a wonderful time {even with a 7 month old teething baby} and enjoyed spending time with the family. Blake did great in the car ~ 10 hour car ride was no problem for him. We could only be so lucky if all of our car rides could go as well as this one.
